The GDV team, a division of the Infrastructure GIS Team, works across Arcadis UK business providing support to the Highways, Rail, Aviation; Buildings; and Water, Energy and Environment and Site Investigation sectors. Overview of Role: Reporting to the GDV Team Leader, you will be responsible for undertaking ground data preparation and Visualisation on our projects, working to generate maximum value and encourage digital working by through your skills in BIM and CAD. You will be responsible for leading the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets whilst meeting or exceeding client expectations. You will take opportunities to promote and market all facets of Arcadis services during interfaces with clients and other sectors and disciplines, contributing towards the achievement of the business plan and building networks within the industry. Your Day-to-Day: Providing leadership and technical advice and training to junior project team members including communicating client requirements and methodologies to other GDV team staff. Working in collaboration with the Geotechnical team, applying technical solutions and methodologies to ensure success of the project. Managing selected projects or components of projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation and commercials, including change management. Responsibility for CAD/BIM standards for the geotechnical discipline and working to ensure standards are developed and implemented on all geotechnical projects. Coordinating activities to prepare deliverables including maps, sections and engineering drawings. Using AutoCAD Civil 3D and our specialist geotechnical data management software to produce geological cross section diagrams and 3D outputs where required. Calculation/creation of earthworks volumes/corridors/sections/profiles using Civil 3D. Responsible for quality control of project deliverables. Collaborating and Coordinating with other disciplines to mitigate design challenges. Working both with other members of the GDV, GIS and Geotechnical teams and on your own initiative to produce deliverables to tight deadlines. Contributing to the technical development of the GDV and geotechnical teams through sharing ideas and innovations.Qualifications A degree and/or qualification in relevant technical subject including elements of CAD/Drafting/Modelling (Higher National Certificate or equivalent) Relevant proven experience in project work Essential Experience: Extensive working knowledge of CAD/BIM processes using Autodesk and/or Bentley software. Experience of working within an infrastructure discipline such as Highways or Rail. Working knowledge of interoperability and workflows between various software and experience applying this to project deliverables. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well within a team environment. Good attention to detail. Ability to identify innovative solutions to problems. Well-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines. Desire to continually learn whilst furthering a career within a consultancy environment applying BIM principles to infrastructure projects. Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Desirable Experience: Experience of ground data, geotechnics, geoscience or geology related fields. Understanding of relevant standards e.g. ISO 19650, AGS data format. Working knowledge of the following packages would be advantageous: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM 360, Infraworks, Microstation, ProjectWise, Leapfrog, HoleBASE, gINT, OpenGround Cloud.
