Senior Document Controller

Location: Leatherhead, Surrey

Contract Type: 12-month contract

Rate: £28-£30 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (on-site)


A leading engineering project is seeking an experienced Senior Document Controller to oversee and manage document control activities for a major oil and gas development. This role is based full-time in Leatherhead and offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to a high-profile international project.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the development and implementation of document management plans, procedures, and systems in line with contractual requirements.
  • Manage supplier and engineering document control processes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation flow.
  • Supervise document control teams across multiple offices, ensuring consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and update key project documentation including Master Document Registers, Distribution Matrices, and Supplier SDRLs/SDLs.
  • Interface effectively with project teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve documentation issues.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and project-specific document control procedures.
  • Support training and development of document control personnel.
  • Utilise document management systems such as IPMS and Documentum.
  • Monitor and report on document progress and performance metrics.


Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Supplier Document Management.
  • Strong understanding of document control systems and processes.
  • Ability to manage teams and coordinate across multiple locations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
