Our customer is seeking a Senior Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) Engineer to lead advanced SQL Server infrastructure engineering. The role focuses on performance optimization, data protection, and compliance across complex, high-availability environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Architect and manage SQL Server clusters supporting mission-critical applications.

Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Configure and maintain DBaaS offerings, including access control, encryption, and monitoring.

Lead database recovery, restoration, and business continuity efforts.

Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure secure, efficient operations.

Implement best practices for performance, availability, and data security.
Qualifications:
-
15+ years of experience in SQL Server engineering and administration.

Minimum 3 years of Federal or DoD IT experience.

Proficiency with SQL Server 2016/2019, RedGate SQL Monitor, and SSMS.

Strong understanding of encryption, security compliance, and database optimization.

Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, AWS RDS, and hybrid database solutions.

Certifications such as MCP, MCSA, or Azure Database Administrator .
Clearance:
Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
