Senior Community Engagement Officer, Environment and Science

The key responsibilities for the Senior Community Engagement Officer are: Undertake community engagement and research, and provide strategic analysis and advice, including in relation to complex policy and program issues and how these impact on outcomes for people across the social and economic policy environment. Support and implement community engagement processes to inform departmental policy and program directions and contribute to the achievement of Queensland Government objectives. Develop and maintain effective and productive working relationships with other state Government agencies, other levels of government, the non-government sector and key community stakeholders to contribute to the development of policies and programs and identify and develop responses to emerging issues. Facilitate mutually beneficial connections between all levels of government, not- for-profit and corporate organisations, and communities throughout Queensland. Recognise and articulate the interests of a diversity of groups, through consulting in accordance with cultural protocols. Maintain a high-level of knowledge of current and emerging issues pertaining to policy and program development and implementation to develop timely and well researched briefings, submission, reports, correspondence and initiatives.
