About the Opportunity
We are representing one of Arizona's fastest-growing engineering firms in their search for a
Senior Civil Project Manager . This is a high-visibility leadership role offering the chance to work on complex, large-scale civil projects while mentoring a talented project team.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned
Professional Engineer (PE)
- with at least 10 years of experience - who brings both deep technical expertise and strong business acumen. This position requires someone who can balance hands-on project delivery with financial oversight, ensuring successful execution while managing budgets, P&L, and profitability.
Position Summary
The Senior Civil Project Manager will oversee civil engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget. This hire will combine a wealth of technical knowledge with the leadership to guide less-seasoned staff and the financial expertise to manage project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects in compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Manage project budgets, forecasting, and P&L to achieve financial targets.
Oversee project schedules, deliverables, and client communications.
Mentor and coach junior staff, serving as the technical and strategic leader.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to resolve challenges and drive project success.
Support business development efforts, including proposals, client meetings, and new opportunities.
Utilize industry-standard tools such as CAD and Bluebeam for design and documentation.
Minimal in-state travel to project sites.
Qualifications
Required:
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license - non-negotiable.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (advanced degree ).
10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management.
Strong financial management experience, including P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
Proven track record of delivering complex civil projects on time and within budget.
Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
Proficiency with CAD, Bluebeam, and other industry-standard tools.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $135,000-$145,000
Total compensation: $150,000-$160,000 (with performance-based bonus tied to financial targets)
