SAP / Control Engineer

The Role



Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you’ll take ownership of all EHV/HV operational activities across our power distribution network, ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance.



Your day-to-day will include:



* Managing 132KV switching, network operations and control



* Leading fault response, outage coordination and maintenance plans



* Issuing and receiving safety documents (DSRs)



* Supporting project commissioning, protection design, and site witnessing



* Reviewing technical designs (schematics, MC&P diagrams)



* Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery



* Contributing to asset and network management strategies



* Providing out-of-hours fault/emergency support on a rota basis



Your Experience



We're looking for a confident and qualified SAP / Control Engineer with:



* Minimum 5 years' experience in 132KV EHV / HV operations



* Strong background in DNO networks and UK electrical engineering standards



* Proven expertise in network control, switching schedules, and safety documentation



* Familiarity with data centre and/or battery storage infrastructure



* Experience in protection system design, testing, and commissioning



* A strong understanding of CDM regulations and engineering governance



* Excellent documentation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills



* Relevant electrical engineering qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds, HNC/HND)



* IT skills (Microsoft Office, design/document control tools)
