Large Northern New Jersey based General Contractor is seeking a full-time Insurance Coordinator. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of relevant work experience, construction industry high preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and overseeing a high volume of subcontractor certifications/COIs
  • Reviewing full insurance policies with the ability to quickly spot problematic exclusions, missing endorsements, etc.
  • Ability to interpret and provide guidance to staff on policy endorsements, insurance terminology, subcontractor risk profiles, etc.
  • Create and administer company wide insurance training and site management procedures to ensure all of our job sites are appropriately protected.
  • Knowledge of case law in various states in which GC does business, identify nuanced risk exposure within those states, if applicable
  • Examining Certificates of Insurance and Endorsements for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to our client’s contract requirements
  • Responsible for the renewal and maintenance of all business licenses and required registrations
  • Communicating with subcontractors, insurance brokers, clients and others, as required
  • Handle insurance claim process from incident report phase through notification of carrier and see through the full litigation phase (if applicable)
  • Maintaining subcontractor contact database
  • Assist CFO in maintaining existing brokerage relationships and oversee the annual policy renewal process, including strategy design, renewal application completion, broker guidance on carrier negotiation, coverage benchmarking, and renewal recommendations.
  • Ability to oversee and manage staff – delegate as necessary
  • Other related projects, as assigned

  • Computer proficiency—Timberline experience a plus
