Rigger/Millwright/Machinery Mover
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionA Rigger/Millwright/Machinery Mover will transport loads and/or company equipment of various types and weights from one point to another without damage to the object moved, property or personnel. This position acts in conjunction as a Laborer, Machinery Mover, Millwright, Rigger and/or Operator.
Key Responsibilities- Acts in a combined capacity as Rigger/Millwright/Machinery Mover- Align, level, and anchor machinery - Assures that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged- Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.- Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment- Operates forklifts, small cranes, vehicles, equipment, and machinery as required by facility or worksite- Operates equipment to hoist materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner- Perform preventative maintenance as required to ensure safe and continual service of equipment- Performs tasks assigned by foreman or operator during lifting procedures- Responsible for personal safety and safety of co-workers- Responsible for slings, cables, straps, and the equipment prior to lifting operations- Other duties as assigned by management
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise- Applicants need to have a valid driver’s license; Class A or B CDL is a pluso If you do not have a current CDL (A or B), you must be willing to obtain the license within 90 days of employment. The process must be started within your first 30 days. - Must demonstrate excellent attendance patterns- Willing to travel and stay out-of-town overnight if a job requires it; limited basis- Previous knowledge and experience with moving machinery and equipment is a plus- Molding and fabrication experience is a plus
