Relay Project Manager

Job Description

This is a Dallas, TX based position, which requires theoretical knowledge and experience in the design, operation, testing and maintenance of relay protection equipment as well as associated substation equipment. This position will report to the Relay Engineering Product manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in the field of power system protection and testing of breakers, CT’s, and relays .
  • Have working knowledge of methods and procedures used in utility substation design, maintenance and protection and control.
  • Must be able to travel 25% of the time to meet with customers and attend technical conferences/seminars.
  • Ability to learn basic scripting in Megger’s relay and high current automated software.
  • Ability to create/edit technical documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for Megger Relay, CT, and High Current products with personal visits, demonstrations, and hands on training on site or remotely.
  • Prepare application notes and technical manuals with support of subject matter experts.
  • You will work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Technical Support, Manufacturing, Service and Repair, Quality, and Management to ensure that company product line profitability goals are met

Beneficial Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience in electrical testing equipment will be beneficial.
  • Experience in the field of power system protection, preferably in testing both electromechanical and microprocessor based protection relays
  • Knowledge for Megger RTMS software
  • Knowledge of Low Voltage Circuit breaker curves
  • Scripting in Basic Visual or other programing software
  • Experience with IEC 61850 Standard in relaying applications and testing is a plus
