Quantity Surveyor

Location: West Sussex office, with travel to two residential sites in Surrey

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + package

Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days in the office, 2 days on site, 1 day working from home



About the Role



We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading South East housebuilder for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working across two major residential developments in Surrey.



Based out of the West Sussex office, you’ll support and manage commercial activities from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and design teams. This hybrid role offers a balanced mix of office, site, and home working.



Key Responsibilities

Support and manage commercial elements of residential developments from start to finish

Prepare and maintain cost plans, budgets, and forecasts



*



Evaluate and negotiate subcontract and supplier packages



*



Measure and value works and variations, ensuring accurate progress claims



*



Monitor cost, risk, and programme performance, reporting to senior management



*



Liaise with project managers, design teams, and site teams to ensure delivery within budget



*



Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and procurement processes



Candidate Requirements



*



Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential sector



*



Main Contractor experience – essential



*



Timber Frame experience – essential



*



Experience on large-scale residential or affordable housing projects desirable



*



RICS qualified or working towards accreditation



*



Strong commercial, contractual, and cost management skills



*



Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational abilities



*



Proactive, commercially astute, and able to work collaboratively across multiple teams
