Quality Engineer | Mason, MI

Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and inspection procedures.
  • Lead root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools for process monitoring and improvement.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Manage supplier quality performance, including evaluations, audits, and defect resolution.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring quality requirements are met from design to launch.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in core quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, Root Cause Analysis, 8D).
  • Solid understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949).
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical process control and data analysis for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead problem-solving initiatives and drive corrective and preventive actions.

Bonus Qualifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Black Belt (CQBB) or equivalent Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Certified Internal or Lead Auditor for industry-specific QMS standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 13485, AS9100)
  • Experience with scripting (e.g., Python) or SQL for advanced data analysis and automation
