GENERAL SUMMARY
Manages multidisciplinary projects with cross-functional teams on multimillion-dollar watershed improvements for internal and external clients. Responsible for ensuring successful execution of project activities such as, contracts, designs, scopes, budgets, and schedules. Implements projects and programs through diverse teams and directs project resources. Project types include design and construction of trails, nature-based parks, utility capital improvements, stream restoration, design and implementation of environmental studies, flood controls, and other related project types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provides expertise and applies a knowledge of project management to oversee assigned projects.
- Facilitates communication and maintains focus on project budget, schedule, and scope when making decisions that impact project activities and deliverables.
- Identifies and manages critical paths, dependencies, and risk management.
- Utilizes the River Authority’s project management software application. Ensures data is accurately maintained for all assigned projects and tasks.
- Anticipates and addresses stakeholder needs, keeping them informed of progress and issues to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables. Reports on project status frequently and escalates situations, as necessary.
- Works with community partners, consultants and other third parties to coordinate work that contributes to the execution or completion of River Authority projects or initiatives.
- Coordinates with an interdisciplinary team of planners, scientists, developers, architects, and engineers in all aspects of project design and implementation.
- Manages conflict between internal teams and external parties.
- Performs and/or coordinates project documentation and files.
- Reviews, inspects, and coordinates construction contract document enforcement for design and construction projects; including shop drawing review and preparation of field changes, change orders, and pay estimates.
- Prepares estimates, monitors project budgets, and makes recommendations concerning budgetary status and/or adjustment.
- Performs related work as required.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
- This position does not directly supervise any employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in science, public administration, political science, urban planning, engineering, or relevant degree with five (5) years of progressively responsible experience may qualify as a Project Manager.
- A bachelor’s degree in science, public administration, political science, urban planning, engineering, or relevant degree with seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience may qualify as a Senior Project Manager.
- Experience managing alternative delivery of construction projects, especially Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contracts, .
*If selected, the level will be determined by the Manager based on an internal assessment of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent .
(Must be attained within 12 months of employment.)
☒ Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
