Job Description
Project Manager\n £75,000 - £85,000 plus package\n City of London\n\ngap construction are seeking a Project Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering complex and high profile schemes across London.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional to take ownership of major projects, lead a high performing delivery team, and work closely with clients and professional teams to ensure outstanding results.\n\nPerformance Objectives\n\nTake full responsibility for leading a delivery team to ensure successful completion of projects to programme, cost, quality, and safety targets.\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams, representing the business in a professional and positive manner.\n\nProvide strategic oversight across the project lifecycle, from early design coordination through to completion and handover.\n\nOffer solutions to challenges quickly and confidently, ensuring momentum is maintained and delays are mitigated.\n\nReview programmes, design documentation, shop drawings, and technical details, contributing improvements where required.\n\nPromote best practice on site including Quality, Health and Safety, and Zero Defects initiatives.\n\nManage project risks, escalating issues appropriately and ensuring senior leadership remain informed.\n\nProduce accurate reports, updates, and progress summaries for project stakeholders.\n\nTake a leading role in client meetings, presentations, and progress reviews.\n\nProvide buildability input and value engineering options where beneficial.\n\nLead and develop a motivated project team, encouraging collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.\n\nImplement company systems, procedures, and controls to ensure seamless project delivery.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nMinimum 10 years experience in a project management role within the construction industry.\n\nRecognised qualification in a construction related discipline.\n\nStrong technical knowledge including construction methods, M and E systems, programming, and procurement.\n\nConfident communicator capable of building positive relationships at all levels.\n\nEffective decision maker with strong leadership, delegation, and team development skills.\n\nExcellent organisation and planning abilities with a methodical approach.\n\nFully conversant with CDM and relevant Health and Safety legislation with a proven track record of successful implementation.\n\nProficient in MS Word and Excel.\n\nCSCS card holder and valid first aid certification.\n\nPositive, energetic, and solutions focused approach to project delivery.\n\nApply\n\nIf you are interested in the above position, please contact James at gap construction or email your updated CV.\n\nThis vacancy is being advertised on behalf of gap construction who are operating as an employment agency.\n gap construction are committed to the selection, recruitment and development of the best people, basing judgements solely on suitability for the job.\n\nBy applying for the above position and providing your personal data to us you understand that your data will be processed in line with our Privacy Policy.\n gap construction is operating as the employment business. gap construction is committed to the selection, recruitment and development of the best people, basing judgements solely on suitability for the job.\n\nWhilst we endeavour to respond to all applications individually, due to high volumes, this is not always possible.
