Ring & DuChateau is seeking a Plumbing Project Engineer to join our Plumbing team. Our firm is a 90+ person, collaborative MEP engineering team known for delivering innovative, high-quality design solutions across a variety of markets, including healthcare and other complex building systems.
In this role, youll contribute to high-performing project teams, support exceptional client service, and help develop efficient, cost-effective plumbing system designs. The successful candidate will:
- Assume duties and responsibilities of project plumbing engineer/designer on projects where appropriate.
- Prepare schematic design documents including basis of design narratives.
- Develop plumbing design drawings utilizing Revit, and written specifications.
- Perform required engineering design calculations.
- Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Communicate with all team members to understand and resolve project challenges that arise, and/or consult with more experienced engineers to gain a deeper understanding of alternative design strategies.
- Perform construction administration duties including shop drawing submittal review, responding to RFIs, preparing construction bulletins, and project site observations.
- Be responsible for coordinating and delegating work tasks to BIM technicians.
- Attend project design meetings and be proficient in communicating the plumbing design to clients
qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Architectural engineering, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 5+ years of experience
- Professional license (PE, Designer of Engineered Systems, or CPD)
- Experience in healthcare or State of Wisconsin (DFD) owned projects
- Experience working for Engineering Consulting Firm, A/E firm, or plumbing contractor
- Working knowledge using Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, as well as Microsoft office Suite of products
- Ability to organize and plan efficiently and manage multiple tasks.
