Project Engineer (m/f/d) – Solar & BESS

Location: Wiesbaden, Germany (Hybrid 1 day remote)

We are supporting a well-established European renewable energy group in their search for a Project Engineer to strengthen their technical team in Germany. This is a long-term opportunity with a business focused on utility-scale solar PV and battery storage development across Europe.

With operations in 9 countries and more than 1 GW installed, they are targeting a sevenfold increase in capacity by 2030. Now’s your chance to play a hands-on role in that growth.

Your Role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering the technical backbone of greenfield solar and BESS projects — from layout and permitting support through to approval preparation and connection planning.

Main Responsibilities:

• Identify and implement optimal technical solutions for solar and BESS projects
• Conduct technical and economic feasibility assessments, including risk analyses
• Plan grid connections, cable routing, and site access
• Oversee permitting and application processes with relevant authorities
• Collaborate with external planners for building and environmental approvals

Your Profile:

• Proven experience in solar PV and/or BESS project engineering
• Strong organisational skills and a pragmatic mindset
• Confident in working independently as well as in a team
• Clear communication style and ability to liaise with authorities and stakeholders
• GIS and/or CAD skills
• Proficiency in German and English
• Based in or near Wiesbaden
