Walbro is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Cass City, Michigan. This role will be responsible for developing mechanical system design solutions, supporting both internal and external customers, and contributing to the successful execution of engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles and present solutions to customers.
- Provide technical support to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolve operational issues related to projects to minimize delays and cost increases.
- Take full responsibility for the success of assigned projects, whether as a leader or team member.
- Ensure all safety objectives and legal requirements are met in all completed work.
- Support the sales team in pre-sales technical concepts and budgeting activities.
- Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering challenges, and implement solutions effectively and within budget.
- Train and guide technicians to ensure proper project execution.
- Maintain technical knowledge through workshops, publications, professional networks, and relevant associations.
- Contribute to team objectives by delivering related results as required.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisors, maintaining quality control and effective working relationships across departments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, particularly in industrial automation, including motors, gears, mechanical systems, pneumatics, robotics, and vacuum systems.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently to meet company objectives.
- Proactive, resourceful, and self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a high-output environment.
- 4 years of experiencie in a related field
