Job Summary: The Project Controls Manager is responsible for overseeing project financial tracking, cost control, scheduling coordination, and risk assessment functions across all active construction projects. This position is critical in supporting the Project Executive in the day-to-day financial and operational management of projects. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of financial acumen, project management expertise, and scheduling control, ensuring that projects remain on budget and on schedule while maintaining alignment with operational goals.
Duties/ Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage cost control systems to monitor project budgets and forecasts

Track project expenditures, commitments, and billing cycles in coordination with project teams

Analyze variances between budget and actual costs, providing recommendations for corrective actions

Prepare and maintain project schedules in collaboration with Project Managers and field staff
-
Monitor and report earned value metrics, schedule performance indicators, and project risk exposure
-
Support contract administration including vendor invoicing, payment tracking, and change orders
-
Work with accounting to ensure timely and accurate posting of project financial data
-
Assist with the development of project cash flow models and revenue forecasts
-
Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Project Executive, CEO, and CFO
-
Attend project update meetings and maintain dashboards on financial and operational KPIs
-
Help maintain compliance with internal policies and contractual obligations
-
Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities within project controls
-

Education/Certifications/Licenses
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
-
PMP or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) is a plus
-
OSHA 30
-
Valid Driver’s License required
Experience
-
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project controls, project finance, or construction management
-
Experience working in construction, civil engineering, or contracting environments
-
Familiarity with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent project tracking tools
-
Strong understanding of cost management and construction scheduling methodologies
-
Background in working cross-functionally with field teams and finance departments
Required Skills/Abilities

Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

Proficiency in Excel, project control software, and reporting tools

Understanding of construction budgeting, billing, and progress tracking

Ability to synthesize complex project data into actionable insights

Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills

Ability to work independently while supporting multiple concurrent projects

Knowledge of project delivery methods and construction workflows

High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability
