Production Supervisor
Job DescriptionJob Description
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee Injection Molding process for a Tier 1 Automotive manufacturing facility. The production will Manage Molding Department including leads, set ups, all labor production. Assist in any and all Material Handler functions of the department. Work closely with the inventory group to monitor supply levels and alert Molding Manager of needed supplies on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in reviewing work orders based on customer orders, pulling the right products for each order; getting other associated supplies to presses; resin, inserts, etc.
· Manages entire Molding Department to ensure set ups are timely in place, individuals are staffed accordingly, necessary material is on hand and ready for each job.
· Maintains data for work orders, pieces, capacity for machines
· Ensures minimum parts necessary to complete are executed
· Manages all levels of Molding Department including leads, set ups, all labor production
· Assists movement of incoming receiving material to storage and work areas.
· Move finished product to shipping/staging area(s) per shipping manager’s discretion;
- Verifies inventory levels against physical count of stock and notes errors in count, weight (etc.); investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
- Organizes material to utilize inventory racks.
- Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material and computes inventory balance. Notifies Manager when material inventories are low.
- Re-stocks and materials to machines as needed. Checks material drums and refills as needed. Organizes and maintains material drums using FIFO.
Checks grinders and empties as needed.
Monitors garbage cans and empties as needed.
Ensuring that dryer filters are clean weekly
Ensure that floor area(s) around all presses and molding production floor are clean.
Opens bales, crates and other containers.
Records amounts of materials or items used and returns.
Assists with re-weighing, tagging and returning unused material from production back into inventory.
Helps with mold changes when requested.
Assist with preparing terminals as needed.
Provide relief at breaks and lunches at the molding presses as required for the operators.
Various duties and assignments as needed per Manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in production, Injection Molding, manufacturing
- Knowledge of production tools and equipment
- Strong leadership qualities, and time management
- Familiar with DMAIC process for improvements
- Experience with MS Excel & Spreadsheets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
