Position Summary:
The Production Planner plays a key role in coordinating and scheduling production control activities to ensure efficient workflow, accurate documentation, and on-time completion of maintenance and repair operations. Acting as a critical liaison between management and production teams, this role ensures that work orders, materials, and data are properly managed through all phases of the process. The Production Planner supports continuous improvement initiatives, maintains compliance with FAA and company procedures, and contributes to an efficient, high-quality repair station environment.
Key Responsibilities
Work Order & Documentation Management
- Plan, create, issue, and track work orders (WO) and work packages using Quantum Control and AvSight systems.
- Verify documentation accuracy and completeness for non-routines, job cards, technical data, and customer workscope packages.
- Audit completed work orders for compliance, ensuring adherence to FAA Repair Station and Quality Control requirements.
- Maintain proper organization and archiving of both digital and physical files, including scanning and backup processes.
Production Planning & Coordination
- Collaborate with the Customer Support Manager (CSM), Quality Assurance (QA), and Production teams to align schedules and ensure smooth workflow.
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules, adjusting plans to meet operational demands.
- Monitor progress on work orders, identify bottlenecks or delays, and proactively communicate issues to management.
- Support inspection and material processing functions by ensuring timely availability of required documentation, tooling, and resources.
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare and present production status reports, schedule updates, and workload forecasts to management.
- Communicate effectively across departments to resolve discrepancies, clarify documentation requirements, and align production priorities.
- Participate in planning, quality, and staff meetings to provide data-driven insights on workflow optimization and production performance.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Support process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, accuracy, and documentation control.
- Ensure compliance with LCIs Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Quality Control Manual (QCM) procedures.
- Uphold standards of data integrity, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance across all production documentation.
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field .
Minimum of 3 years of experience in production control, planning, or administrative operations, with exposure to aviation or manufacturing environments.
Proficiency in Quantum Control, AvSight, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a collaborative mindset.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Attributes
Knowledge of FAA Repair Station documentation and compliance requirements.
Experience with data accuracy, production scheduling, and workflow coordination.
Familiarity with audit preparation and compliance recordkeeping.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
