Job Description

As a Production Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the packaging process. You will be responsible for pre-labeling bags, feeding them into the bagger, and understanding the software of the bagger system to perform light maintenance when needed. Once the bags are filled, you will ensure they are properly sealed and weigh the product to meet standards. This position involves working on a dark chocolate/white chocolate IPCO/Depot Line, packing chocolate into boxes for various projects.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-label bags and feed them into the bagger.
  • Understand the software of the bagger system and perform light maintenance.
  • Ensure bags are properly sealed and weigh the product to meet standards.
  • Mix, batch, pan, and pack products.
  • Lift up to 50lbs as required.
  • Verify correct labeling is placed on boxes in specific spots.
  • Measure and weigh products into pre-made boxes with liners.
  • Mix ingredients by measuring and pouring them into a blender/conch with precise sheets to follow and sign off on.
  • Operate pallet jack and metal detector.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in packaging, labeling, and lifting boxes.
  • Ability to stack and label products accurately.
  • Ability to measure and weigh products accurately.
  • Experience in mixing ingredients and operating equipment.
  • Familiarity with operating pallet jacks and metal detectors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferably at least 6 months of manufacturing experience, with food manufacturing experience being a plus.
  • Experience in packing, palletizing, visual inspection, machine operating, or blending.
  • Demonstrated drive to advance within the company.

Work Environment

The facility operates on a 2nd Shift from 2:30pm-11:00pm and a 3rd Shift from 10:30pm-7:00am, with training provided on shift. This is a clean, well-lit food manufacturing environment where health and safety guidelines are strictly followed. Expect a fast-paced work environment with a lot of standing. Contractors are required to wear hairnets, beard nets, steel-toed shoes, and lab coats. The environment can be dusty, and while climate-controlled, temperatures can reach up to 100 degrees due to machinery and ovens.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr.
