Production Engineer – Linux– AWS – Python - Hedge Fund

My client, a reputable Hedge Fund, is looking to hire a Production Engineer to join one of their engineering teams that supports their trading business in London. This technical team supports the client’s product suite that is used by a number of internal and external users, so it will be important that the right person ensures that these systems are running smoothly and that the business and other users are provided with an outstanding level of technical support.

This is not a pure support role though - there is also an equally important element to the role which is centred around automation, and identifying areas where the team can automate to reduce the load on the team. They want someone who is an engineer at heart, who can write code to eliminate toil, improve reliability, and automate release, monitoring, and recovery processes.

The suite of global applications you will be supporting will give you exposure to various areas including development, testing and deployment. You will need to have supported a trading desk before, and have a proven track record of building and maintaining automated tools for deployment, health checks, alerts, and runbooks.

To be right for this, you need to have the following skill set:

• Technical Support experience on a real-time trading system
• Experience working with Linux (navigating/commands etc), Windows, Docker, AWS
• Bash/Python scripting experience
• Automation/CI/CD: Git, TeamCity, Ansible
• Database technologies - SQL Server & Snowflake (advantageous)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected hedge fund. You will be expected to be onsite 4 days a week and the role will pay up to £100k base + a discretionary bonus.
