The Job

As aProcurement Officer, you’ll play a vital role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supply chains for innovative clean-tech systems, while also supporting the implementation of a new ERP system. This is a multifaceted role combining hands-on procurement, systems thinking, and collaboration across engineering, commercial, and project teams.

You’ll contribute to key stages of technology development and scale-up, ensuring that the procurement process meets technical, budgetary, and regulatory requirements.

This is an ideal role for someone with 5+ years' experience in industry (ideally in chemical processing, oil & gas, or similar) who is looking for a high-autonomy position that could evolve into a specialist or team leadership role as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop procurement specifications and manage sourcing processes.

* Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships.

* Lead supplier performance and contract management activities.

* Ensure technical compliance with ISO 9001, customer specifications, and international regulations.

* Contribute to commercial proposals and project planning.

* Visit vendor sites and attend technical meetings.

* Track procurement KPIs and report on cost and lead-time performance.

* Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.

* Support ERP implementation and act as a system champion within the business.

* Collaborate cross-functionally to support engineering, sales, and operational teams.

The Person

* Degree-qualified or equivalent industry experience in a relevant field.

* Proven procurement experience, ideally in chemical or industrial settings.

* Strong commercial awareness and contract negotiation skills.

* Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and their impact on purchasing decisions is a plus.

* Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

* Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment.

* Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a hands-on mindset.
