We are recruiting several Processing Commissioning Supervisors for long term consultancy contracts, that have experience in Furnaces.
Our client is a global industrial engineering organization specializing in the design, supply, and servicing of heavy metallurgical equipment, with a strong focus on systems used in steel processing.
Their expertise includes:
- Engineering and manufacturing industrial furnaces and thermal processing lines
- Supporting key processes such as annealing, galvanizing, and heat treatment
- Delivering full lifecycle solutions – from design and installation to commissioning and after-sales support
- Partnering with major steel producers to enhance material properties like strength, ductility, and surface quality through controlled thermal processes
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Supervise electrical installation activities (including instrumentation, cable trays, cabling, and electrical cabinets) in line with specifications and standards
- Lead and support commissioning activities (calibration checks, I/O testing, sequence testing, control loop optimization, and performance testing)
- Review and distribute contractual and technical site information to supervisors and subcontractors
- Develop and maintain a detailed execution schedule
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee site activities involving internal teams and external contractors
- Act as the key interface with partners and clients on-site
- Prepare for and participate in site meetings
- Oversee equipment delivery, ensuring proper handling and storage
- Ensure compliance with site rules and standards across all personnel and subcontractors
- Manage site-related costs and variations where applicable
- Monitor progress, report issues, and provide regular site updates
- Raise and manage non-conformity reports (NCRs)
- Prepare end-of-site reports, including technical feedback for as-built documentation and future projects
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations on-site
- Promote a strong safety culture and report any breaches to the Project Manager and line management
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of site-based experience
- Background in furnace processes, production support, performance and quality improvement, and defect analysis
- Strong understanding of industrial installation and commissioning environments
Skills & Knowledge
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); French is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (electrical and P&ID)
- Proficient in standard IT tools (Excel, Word, planning tools, internet)
