Impact Recruitment are currently working with a market leading business who specialise in the construction industry globally. They are currently recruiting for a Principle Structural Engineer to oversee engineering projects including resource programming, design review and ensuring completion delivery.

Our client is a team of engineers who specialise in the design, development, manufacture, commissioning and site operation for a range of specialist construction projects around the world. They provide the complete service of construction engineering, supply of equipment and site supervision. With offices based around the world they are a growing and developing company, with opportunity to progress your career.

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 (Depending on experience)

\n

Location: Rushden Northamptonshire

\n

Hours: Monday - Friday working 9am-5:30pm (flexibility to offer hybrid working)

\n

Contract: Permanent

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Manage engineering projects from concept to completion, including resource planning, scheduling, design reviews, and ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • \n

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • \n

  • Collaborate within a well-established team of Engineers and CAD Technicians, working in compliance with our Company Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001).
  • \n

  • Provide mentoring, supervision, and quality checks for the work produced by Engineers and CAD Technicians.
  • \n

  • Lead the conceptual and detailed design of construction methods and temporary works, with a focus on steel structures designed to Eurocode standards.
  • \n

  • Conduct structural analysis reviews using STAAD Pro and LUSAS software.
  • \n

  • Prepare detailed design calculations using Microsoft Excel () or manual methods.
  • \n

  • Develop design sketches and drawings either by hand or using Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
  • \n

  • Oversee the CAD team in producing 3D models, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and manufacturing drawings.
  • \n

  • Create technical documentation, including design statements, designer's risk assessments, and engineering method statements.
  • \n

  • Assist in the preparation of tender designs and cost estimates.
  • \n

Required Experience:

\n

    \n
  • A minimum of 12 years' post-graduate experience in structural analysis and design, with a strong emphasis on steel structures.
  • \n

  • Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams.
  • \n

  • Solid understanding of temporary works and construction engineering, including familiarity with heavy lifting equipment and techniques.
  • \n

  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of Eurocodes in structural design.
  • \n

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • \n

  • Proficient in general IT applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email systems.
  • \n
