Power Distribution Technical Assistant.

The Technical Assistant is responsible for providing technical assistance for the trolley overhead and underground systems and equipment as well as the electrical and lighting systems and equipment at all transit facilities and properties.

This recruitment will immediately fill one (1)

Career Service

position and may also be used to create an eligibility pool for future Career Service, valid up to 12 months or until exhausted and at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Job Duties

As the

Technical Assistant

,

you will :

Act as the project manager for the maintenance and installation of special projects. Provide design and specifications for operation and maintenance procedures. Research, design and develop specifications for all electrical systems modifications and construction projects with the section. Prepare, plan, schedule and set priorities for project work. Provide guidance for underground crews. Review field inspections and evaluate priorities of trolley overhead system checked out by line crews. Review accident reports and provide estimates for damage repair and remuneration made by Seattle Police affecting trolley overhead systems and other electrical systems and equipment. Respond to customer complaints on trolley overhead system rework on expansion proposals. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite applications such as Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.

Experience in planning and scheduling techniques and principles.

Skill in conducting research on a specific work assignment.

Problem-solving & analytical skills.

Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.

Experience in reading and interpreting engineering and architectural drawings.

Knowledge of electrical, safety and construction codes.

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Valid Washington State Driver's License and acceptable driving record.

Desirable

Qualifications:

Two years of electrical experience.

Experience in the use of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) or equivalent systems.

Knowledge of Metro Transit Facilities Power Distribution operations.

Knowledge of project management principles and organizational skills.
