Job Description

Role – Planner (Specialist)\nLocation – London\nA leading developer within the energy sector is seeking an experienced Planner to join them on a 12-month contract, starting immediately.\nScope of Work\n * Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules for energy infrastructure developments, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), substations, grid-connection works, and renewable assets.\n * Build project programmes from early-stage development through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.\n * Analyse planning documentation, engineering designs, specifications, and construction methodologies to create accurate and logically sequenced schedules.\n * Work closely with Development, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Project Management teams to validate programme assumptions and ensure alignment across all project phases.\n * Monitor progress against baseline schedules, identifying delays, risks, and opportunities; provide corrective actions and mitigation strategies to maintain key milestones.\n * Prepare regular progress reports, look-ahead schedules, KPIs, and programme dashboards for senior management, investors, and external stakeholders.\n * Integrate schedule data from contractors, grid operators, consultants, and suppliers to produce a unified project programme.\n * Conduct site visits where required to validate progress, confirm programme assumptions, and identify factors impacting delivery timelines.\n * Support change management by assessing time impacts, revising programme logic, and contributing to project reforecasts.\n * Assist with project handover by maintaining accurate planning records, progress data, and schedule revisions.\nExperience to be Considered\n * Must have experience working for a developer within the energy, utilities, or renewable sectors (e.g., BESS, Solar, Onshore/Offshore Wind, Grid Infrastructure).\n * Proven experience as a Planner supporting multi-disciplinary energy or infrastructure projects from pre-construction through delivery.\n * Strong understanding of project development stages, grid connection processes, permitting timelines, procurement sequences, and construction workflows.\n * Proficiency in recognised planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.\n * Ability to interpret technical drawings, development documentation, engineering designs, and construction methodologies.\n * Experience working with internal teams, external contractors, consultants, and suppliers to gather schedule inputs and validate programme data.\n * Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills with a proactive, detail-driven, and solution-focused approach.\nIf you are interested, please apply through the website
