Job Summary

We are seeking an ESG Sustainability Specialist to join the Technology Support of LTC Readiness and Sabic Interface Department. The Technology Support is responsible for providing technology support and consultation to the Liquid to Chemicals (LTC) Projects. Sponsor the development and commercialization of R&DC technologies from SABIC and This Company portfolios with focus on the crude to chemicals technologies. Ensure compliance with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Carbon Neutrality (decarbonization) targets for the LTC program. The ESG Sustainability Specialist must have strong technical capabilities and extensive experience with decarbonization within the refining and chemicals realm. The primary role is to provide technical support to multiple project teams; evaluate decarbonization technologies to be deployed; and develop strategies to manage ESG for LTC projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for capital projects involving petrochemical units at various stages of execution (pre-feasibility, feasibility, basic and detailed engineering).
  • Utilize simulation and modeling (energy and material balances, utilities and catalysts requirement, effluents and specifications, etc.) of refining and petrochemical units.
  • Lead the carbon lifecycle evaluation process of projects from crude distillation all the way to polymerization.
  • Identify carbon footprint reduction opportunities between refining and chemicals.
  • Assess new and emerging carbon capture, sequestration, and utilization technologies.
  • Be familiar with current market carbon-related governing regulations and be able to assess appropriate implementation timing.
  • Actively participate in a knowledge sharing network.
  • Act as a professional mentor to developing specialists and engineers.

Requirements:

  • This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; an MS is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, with a minimum of 5 years in operations and 5 years in an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) role or a similar role.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with internal engineering, R&D, and technical service groups.
  • Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally.
