Summary/Objective
We are seeking a Payroll & Safety Compliance Specialist to join our team based in Eagan MN. This role is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, maintaining payroll accuracy and compliance, supporting employee training programs, overseeing benefit invoice processing, and ensuring workplace safety through proactive audits and inspections.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies accurately and on time using ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
- Audit timecards, process garnishments, child support payments, etc.
- Prepare, review, and analyze payroll reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee payroll questions and issue resolution.
- Maintain and update employee pay changes, deductions, and tax information in the HRIS.
- Set up and maintain employee 401(k) contributions, HSA, etc. in payroll.
- Assist with the implementation of new companies / transition to WFN.
Benefits & HR Support
- Manage benefit invoices, including reconciliation, accuracy checks, and coordination with vendors.
- Serve as a back-up for other HR functions as needed (e.g., onboarding support, employee file maintenance, open enrollment, general HR administration).
- Manage FMLA, short-term , workers’ compensation claims, including reporting, tracking, and communication with third-party administrators or carriers.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and labor regulations.
Training & Development
- Assign, track, and monitor required training for new hires and existing employees.
- Partner with department leaders to ensure timely completion of training requirements.
Compliance, Safety & Engagement
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in the Safety Committee and Engagement Committee.
- Support ongoing safety and engagement initiatives to strengthen workplace culture and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with auditors for 401(k) audits.
Qualifications
- Previous experience processing payroll is required.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is required.
- Strong understanding of payroll functions, tax compliance, and HRIS updates.
- Experience managing benefit invoices and/or benefits administration .
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Skills & Experience
- Experience managing workers’ compensation claims.
- Experience in safety programs, compliance activities, or safety audits.
- Familiarity with employee training systems or LMS platforms.
- Generalist-level HR experience or cross-functional exposure.
