We are seeking an Operations Manager to become an integral part of our team! You will coordinate and oversee the organization's daily operations. The Operations Manager directs and coordinates the operations of the company to ensure that all customer service expectations are met, profitability is maximized and drivers hours are fully utilized. This is a hands-on position in multiple roles and requires after hours availability as needed. 

about us: SS Chad Express is a family-owned business operating with 11 company power units and 3 owner operators. Company equipment is maintained at the operations office in Effingham IL. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage and improve operational practices
• Load planning, scheduling, and dispatching drivers
• Track and monitor safety operational trends and analysis
• Human Resources, employee related issues, recruiting, and retention 
• media advertising for employee recruiting and expanding customer base
• sales calls to recruit new customers and reduce the use of broker freight
• resolve customer service issues and coordinate a satisfactory solution
• event planning for recruiting, employee appreciation, public relations etc..
• maintain employee paperwork and owner operator contracts
• oversee computer systems, maintain software, and security requirements 
• utilize and grow company brokerage authority 

​Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Transportation Industry operations or other related fields (minimum 5 yrs)
• 2 years minimum Supervisory experience 
• Strong project management skills
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong leadership qualities
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
