- Conduct job duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Administer medications, including pharmacologic stress agent under the supervision of physician, according to manufacturer’s guidelines and established policy and procedures.
- Monitor patients for possible reactions and/or side effects to administered treatment per physician’s order.
- Ensure proper operation of equipment and performance of all nuclear cardiac studies.
- Perform computer acquisition and processing of complex nuclear data and images for interpretation by nuclear cardiologists in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines and the company’s established policy and procedure.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures in accordance with Radioactive Materials License, manufacturer’s guidelines, and policy/procedures.
- Order, prepare, and administer radiopharmaceuticals and/or pharmaceuticals as per physician’s order.
- Call patients to confirm scheduled testing. Instruct patients of appropriate preparation for test. Collect and complete all necessary patient information on diagnostic nuclear worksheet at minimum of twenty-four hours prior to scheduled appointment.
- Perform stress testing to include monitoring of patient’s ECG and vital signs before, during, and after stress testing as directed by supervising physician.
- Properly complete patient’s billing sheet to include appropriate CPT codes and ICD codes specific to the ordered diagnostic testing.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Adhere to compliance policies and procedures. Report any incident that appears/deficient to the department supervisor/manager.
- Perform work-related duties as directed. The job duties and responsibilities of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist include but are not limited to the previously described areas of duties and responsibilities.
- NMTCB or ARRT (N) required within one year of hire.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Maintains CE requirements to maintain ICANL accreditation.
