Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer \n\nLocation: Northamptonshire\n\nSalary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum\n\nHours: Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5pm / Friday 9:30am - 5pm\n\nAbout the Company\nOur client is a leading engineering and manufacturing business known for delivering high-quality, bespoke solutions to a diverse customer base. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Projects team.\n\nThe Role\nReporting directly to the Head of Projects, the Design Engineer will play a key role in producing high-quality 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks/ AutoCAD. You will be responsible for delivering accurate manufacturing drawings, managing Bills of Materials, and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless delivery of engineered products.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, hands-on design professional with a strong background in steel fabrication and mechanical design.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nProduce detailed 2D /3D manufacturing drawings of systems, products, and layouts\nCreate fabrication drawings for steel structures and assembly drawings complete with BOMs.\nEnsure all drawings meet high standards of quality, accuracy, continuity, and relevant directives.\nManage and maintain all BOMs within the company's ERP system.\nCollaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales to ensure designs meet business and customer requirements.\nGenerate and issue BOMs and associated drawings as required.\nEnsure all documentation is correctly filed and company interests are protected.About You:\n\nProven experience as a Design Engineer or Draughtsman within a similar industry.\nStrong background in steelwork fabrication.\nHNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.\nProficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is essential \n\nHow to Apply:\nTo apply for the Mechanical Design Engineer position, click Apply Now and upload your CV.
