Position Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager will spearhead facilities engineering and design projects, ensuring successful delivery by managing planning, scope, schedule, budget, team coordination, stakeholder communication, risk management, resource management, quality assurance, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct engineering calculations and assessments to optimize mechanical design solutions.

- Lead field investigations, HVAC load studies, energy modeling, and code reviews.

- Oversee, produce, and ensure the quality of mechanical/plumbing design documents for bidding and construction phases.

- Supervise junior engineering staff in design and drafting tasks, and conduct quality control reviews.

- Coordinate project designs with client specifications and comply with local, city, and state code requirements, interacting with code officials and permitting offices.

- Address complex mechanical design issues and assist with construction-related concerns in the field.

- Serve as a project manager on various mechanically driven facilities projects, handling a range of project sizes.

Required Qualifications:

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

- Proven experience in building mechanical and plumbing systems design, including domestic/sanitary piping, HVAC, duct design, DX refrigeration, hydronic distribution, air-handling equipment, central thermal plants, and fire protection.

- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-coordination skills.

- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards.

Attributes:

- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.

- Experience with energy modeling software and load calculation tools.

- Strong leadership abilities and a proactive mindset toward challenges as opportunities for growth.
