Mooremack Building Services provide Ductwork, Airside & Insulation Services to various sectors in the Construction Industry. They hold FIRAS in Fire Rated Ductwork, Safe Contractor & Constructionline Gold Accreditations. Mooremack is a proud sponsor of Harefield United FC & Chalfont Saints FC.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Estimator/Surveyor. The role involves tasks such as cost control, BOQ preparation, calculating and estimating the costs, materials, and labor required for ventilation system installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. Cost management, cost planning, and cost reporting.
Qualifications
- Cost Control and Cost Management skills
- BOQ preparation and Cost Planning skills
- Cost Reporting skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Ventilation Systems
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
Must Haves
- Knowledge & understanding of Ventilation Systems
- Proficient use of Ventilation & Insulation measuring software (Ensign)
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in establishing client requirements and undertake feasibility studies for Ventilation projects.
• Prepare and analyze project costings for tenders, including materials, quantities, labour, and time.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities specific to mechanical services.
• Negotiate contracts and work schedules with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Allocate work to subcontractors and oversee their work at all stages of construction.
• Perform risk, value management, and cost control during mechanical services projects.
• Ensure the project remains within budget and on track financially.
• Advise on a procurement strategy for Ventilation services.
• Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks specific to Ventilation projects.
• Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes related to Ventilation services.
• Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
• Value completed work, oversee bills, and arrange payments for mechanical services.
