About the Company:
A rapidly growing medical device manufacturer specializing in precision components for flexible and rigid endoscopy replacement parts. The company was founded in response to industry-wide demand for high-quality precision replacement components and focuses on delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective alternatives to support endoscopic and related disciplines.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the team and help expand our product offerings. The ideal candidate will have strong design and problem-solving skills, experience with SolidWorks, and the ability to take projects from concept through production. Experience in extruding polyurethanes, braiding stainless steel wire, and coatings applications is a plus.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position
Responsibilities:
- Provide functional design of components and assemblies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce detailed and assembly drawings for fabrication
- Develop innovative design techniques to optimize manufacturing processes
- Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and tooling
- Lead R&D projects from concept to market, determining processes and recommending materials
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively to meet business needs
- Evaluate design effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety; investigate root causes of failures and recommend improvements
- Contribute new ideas and creative solutions to improve processes and products
- Estimate costs, production times, and staffing requirements for new designs
- Utilize 3D modeling (SolidWorks )
- Support manufacturing with the design and development of production equipment, tools, and fixtures
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve results on time
- Assist in creating and maintaining procedures and records of Design & Development per Quality Management System (QMS) standards
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong complex problem-solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with fabrication and assembly practices
- Effective decision-making and analytical skills
- Knowledge of systems analysis and process optimization
- Critical thinking and logical reasoning abilities
- Understanding of manufacturing disciplines: BOMs, MRP, drawing structure, and Lean methodology
- Ability to select appropriate tools and equipment for specific applications
- Experience defining product requirements and ensuring consistent quality
- Familiarity with QMS and ISO 13485
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
