Job DescriptionArcadis Building Engineering Group is looking for a licensed Mechanical Engineer (Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) to join our growing Montreal teamAre you looking to be a part of a team that specialises in the design, tendering and contract administration of mechanical systems such as HVAC, process exhaust, hydronics, plumbing, fire protection, etc? You will have the opportunity to work on projects in the Montreal area, as well as collaborating with other Arcadis offices all throughout North America.The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in HVAC, plumbing & drainage, and/or fire protection systems, as well as hands-on experience with process engineering systems such as compressed air and fueling systems. Detailed knowledge of the Quebec Building Code, National Building Code, as well as ASHRAE and NFPA standards, is essential. People and communities thrive when the spaces in which they live, work, move and play are designed and managed in a way that best meets their needs.Role accountabilities:Contributing to the design and development of mechanical systems for building projects while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standardsCollaborating with senior engineers to support the implementation of process engineering systemsParticipating in site assessments and reviews to verify the performance and functionality of mechanical systemsProviding technical support to project teams, contractors, and clients, and actively participating in project planning and coordination effortsAssisting in the preparation of engineering calculations, reports and staying updated with advancements in mechanical engineering technologies and best practicesCoordinate with architectural team and other engineering disciplines, and actively participate in project planning and budgetingDesign and engineer building-related systems, including HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, controls and building automation systemsSupport the design of industrial systems such as compressed air, lubrication, and fueling systems, as well as service connections for machine installationsAnalyze heating and cooling loads using computerized methodsDevelop and write engineering study reportsEnsure compliance with applicable codes and standards during design development, and coordinate with the energy analysis team for compliance with energy standardsTake responsibility for the production of construction documents and construction administration for projects, and review and approve technical documentationConduct quality assurance checks, foster innovation, and drive continuous improvement within the engineering teamQualificationsQualifications and Experience:Possess 7-10 years of experience in mechanical design for industrial and transit facilities, with a strong background in automotive facilities being an assetHold a professional engineering license (P.Eng.) and have a comprehensive understanding of AutoCAD MEP, MicroStation, Revit, 3D software, and related toolsDemonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills for effective internal and client interactionsExhibit the ability to work on multiple project assignmentsLegally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorshipShow proven experience in collaborating with clients, contractors, and other consultantsPossess an excellent understanding of the Quebec Building Code, Quebec Fire Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA, ASHRAE standardsFamiliar with TSSA Fuel & Pressure vessel codes, and industrial ventilation standards, among other relevant industrial standards is an addon assetAdditional InformationWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
