Job DescriptionJob Description
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for implementing innovative product designs with a strong focus on manufacturability and production efficiency. This role supports manufacturing operations by addressing design-related challenges, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring seamless integration of design changes into production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement new and innovative product designs with consideration for manufacturability and production constraints.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to assess the impact of design updates on manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate and implement proposed process and design changes in partnership with production personnel.
- Prepare and execute Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to resolve quality issues and maintain accurate documentation.
- Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify cost-reduction opportunities and support related initiatives.
- Participate in project status meetings and contribute engineering updates as needed.
- Create and modify product designs using SolidWorks.
- Partner with the Design Engineering team in the development and refinement of new products.
- Coordinate with Production Administration to ensure proper usage of parts and to manage design changes affecting inventory and ERP system data.
- Review designs and proposed changes with the Engineering Manager to ensure alignment with departmental goals and standards.
Education & Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) or Mechanical Engineering (ME).
- 2–4 years of engineering experience through full-time roles, internships, or co-op programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
