About the Role:\nWe are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services for a range of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. This is a flexible position with the option to work on a hybrid basis or primarily remote, depending on your location and preferences.\n\nYou'll be joining a forward-thinking engineering consultancy focused on delivering sustainable, energy-efficient solutions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to projects from early concept through to completion, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Interpret results from energy modelling and simulation tools to inform mechanical system design.\n\n * Size and select equipment such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, ductwork, and diffusers based on engineering calculations.\n\n * Liaise with manufacturers to specify appropriate mechanical systems and components.\n\n * Calculate ductwork and pipework sizing, pressure drops, and velocities.\n\n * Create detailed layouts for ductwork, piping, and control systems using AutoCAD, and ideally Revit MEP.\n\n * Produce mechanical (HVAC and public health) design drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules.\n\n * Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and electrical designers to integrate building systems seamlessly.\n\n * Participate in internal and external design meetings, contributing technical expertise and design insights.\n\n * Provide support during design reviews, approvals, and coordination stages.\n\n * Lead mechanical aspects of projects from initial scope handover through to successful completion.\n\nAbout You:\n\n * Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.\n\n * Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanical building services design, preferably to UK standards.\n\n * Solid understanding of HVAC system design and energy performance considerations.\n\n * Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit MEP experience is highly desirable.\n\n * Comfortable managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously.\n\n * Strong communication skills and the ability to lead design coordination effectively.\n\n * Chartered Engineer status (or working towards chartership) is advantageous.\n\nWhat’s Offered:\n\n * Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.\n\n * Flexible working options — hybrid or mostly remote.\n\n * A supportive and collaborative working environment.\n\n * Exposure to innovative, sustainable, and technically engaging projects.\n\n * Clear path for professional growth and career development.\n\nIf you feel this is for you or someone you know please do get in touch today - we look forward to hearing from you
