Operations Manager (Manufacturing)
Newburyport Massachusetts
UltraClad Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Metglas USA, a world leading producer of Amorphous Metal Ribbon. UltraClad supplies Metglas with copper alloy components made via hot isostatic pressing using aerospace manufacturing methods. UltraClad has never missed a production delivery of this key component in over 20 years of production.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an operations or manufacturing role
- Management experience with ISO 9000 family of standards and auditing process
- Proven experience overseeing a manufacturing facility, ideally within an engineering setting including responsibility for supply chain
Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for supervising 5 to 10 employees and overseeing the entire production process, which includes powder handling, sheet metal fabrication, welding, heat treating, machining, and vendor supervision, and quality control. This is a very hands-on position and the Operations Manager will be expected to learn and be able to perform many of the production operations. The position will initially report to the Director of technology who is currently functioning as Operations Manager.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the production facility, including production scheduling and managing the supply chain
- Meet required delivery schedule while maintaining product quality
- Drive improvements in efficiency and product quality
- Maintain productive relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Play a leadership role in implementing and maintaining ISO standards with a focus on Quality Management, Environmental Management and Health and Safety
- Oversee environmental health and safety program: MA hoisting licenses, Respirator Certifications, OSHA compliance and Hazardous waste disposal
Requirements and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering or equivalent highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience with ISO 9000 Certification and Training
- Familiarity with various CNC machines and manufacturing process is highly desirable
- Strong business computer skills. Knowledge of Excel and Word required
- Excellent technical problem-solving skills
- Time management skills to address competing priorities
- Good interpersonal skills coupled with supervisory experience
Salary and Benefits:
$150,000 per year, plus bonus. Salary commensurate with experience
