The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible but not limited to assisting manufacturing engineers in running projects and collecting data and reporting out. This position will also be performing regular repair and preventative tool maintenance, troubleshooting production tooling/process problems, and assisting with the fabrication and introduction of new tooling and processes into production.

Hours: Tuesday - Friday 6:00am - 4:30pm

Job Summary:
Assist Manufacturing Engineers in facilitating projects on production floor by collecting data and reporting back test results. Some light CNC programming and machining may be required. Weld, Fabricate and assemble manufacturing tooling. Work with the manufacturing and tooling engineer and production staff to weld, fabricate and assemble manufacturing jigs and fixtures, implement tool design changes/modifications and assist in root cause determination of tool related issues. Specific responsibilities include tool lay-out, tool design support reviews, tool aids, tool maintenance logs, and tool recommendations to improve process quality. Ensures that all assigned work areas are kept clean, orderly, and presentable at all times. Applies the 6S principle. Wears proper protective equipment during appropriate job functions. Complies with all paperwork, such as work instructions, that govern job duties. May be assigned to different work areas as production needs require. Provide immediate technical support to production related tooling issues, expediting resolution to ensure minimal impact to continuous product flow and production takt time. Provides support in the analysis, evaluation and resolution of manufacturing issues. Address sustaining problems with tool/process improvement recommendations and/or engineering change requirements submitted through the area Manufacturing Engineer. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED; or two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to operate measurement tools including scales, micrometers, and calipers. Ability to operate hand tools such as drills, saws, and die grinders. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
