Manufacturing Engineer | Otsego, MI

Salary Range: $69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
• Design, procure, and implement manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment.
• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
• Support new product introduction by ensuring manufacturability and smooth transition to production.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges and implement engineering changes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on process optimization and production support.
• Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture design and process layout.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Experience with production equipment, tooling, and fixture design, development, and troubleshooting.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with automation, robotics, or PLC programming.
• Proficiency in advanced CAD/CAM software for simulation or tooling design.
• Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing improvement projects.
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for production data analysis.
