Description
Design manufacturing processes and prepare instructions for machining of parts to customer blueprints and specifications.
Responsible for
- Design of machining process, machine selection, run-time estimation, planning with GD&T in mind
- Preparation of working plans & instructions
- Quotation for manufacturing process
- Preparation of manufacturing drawings using Solidworks Software
- Continually looking for ways to improve on existing processes
- Root cause analysis / troubleshooting on shop floor
- Designing custom fixtures and tooling
- Formulating repair proposals
- Communicating with customers and suppliers
Requirements
Education: High School Required, Trade/Vocational/College Preferred
Experience: 5 years Manufacturing Experience (Machining) or College Degree + 3 years experience in a machining environment
Knowledge: SolidWorks software, use of inspection tools, GD&T interpretation

- Vertical, Horizontal, 5-Axis CNC Milling
- EDM (plunge / wire)
- 3D printing – DMLS (metal powder printing)
- Drilling / honing / gundrilling
- NDT (DPI / pressure testing / Helium leak testing)
- Welding – TIG, Electron-beam, Laser
