Managing Consultant - Energy & Utilities

Our client is an innovation and transformation consultancy with
diverse teams of experts combining innovative thinking with breakthrough
technologies. They are looking for a Managing Consultant in their
Energy & Utilities sector to join the growing technology team
building their global technology innovation business.

This is a senior opportunity which would suit someone that is looking for a role
that will allow them to build something by leveraging the company's
enviable technical capability into the Energy & Utilities space.

The ideal candidate will have a background in energy, innovation, sales /
business development, and delivery. You will be working on genuinely
innovative projects and will need technological credibility.

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Managing Consultant who is able to both sell
and deliver high quality technology development work to clients in the
Energy & Utilities sector. This will include:

  • Leading medium to large-scale complex technical multi-disciplinary assignments
  • Growing, managing, and developing a high performing team of energy and utilities focused technologists
  • Active involvement in managing client accounts support engagement with our clients
  • Producing thought-provoking pieces to raise the company profile in technology innovation in the sector
  • Drawing on your sector network and being responsible for initiating, leading and winning sales.
  • You will have a strong network of senior contacts and potential buyers
    across the sector; ideally in areas that are complementary to our
    current client base.

Your primary expertise and experience will be as a multi-disciplinary technology leader. Specifically, you will be experienced in one or more of the following fields:

  • A deep and broad understanding of Energy Transition and the supporting technologies
  • Technical expertise in at least one area of Energy Transition that would enable you to lead technology development in that area
  • Technical expertise in the broader energy and utilities sector; water, electric, renewables, etc.
  • Technical innovation lead experience.
  • Experience as technical lead of complex multi-disciplinary technology development projects
  • Expert in complex technical project management
  • Chartered Engineer with expertise in at least one of these technical fields -
    Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Embedded Software Engineering
    (desirable)
  • Commercial experience in structuring highly complicated proposals, effort estimation and sales conversion.

As Managing Consultant you would represent a top tier appointment in the
organisation, typically serving as business development, thought and
team leaders. This role is highly varied and calls for someone who is
autonomous and a self-starter.
