Job DescriptionJob Description

Basic Convenience Foods is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. This role is essential in supporting smooth operations of our sauce manufacturing equipment and facility. A strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn and grow into the position are required.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Assist with troubleshooting and repairing basic mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment used in sauce production and packaging

·        Perform preventive maintenance tasks on machines and facility

·        Read Prints, basic drawings, and electrical schematics.

·        Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with food safety standards

·        Proper use and care of equipment, materials, and tools

·        Wash and sanitize food contact surfaces in equipment when needed

·        Learn our maintenance tracking software and keep documentation up to date

·        Learn and follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements

Qualifications:

·        High school diploma or GED required

·        Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning industrial equipment

·        Experience using hand and power tools

·        Able to use a computer as needed

·        Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

·        Good work ethic, punctual and reliable

·        Able to lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, and work in hot or cold environments

·        Ability to drive a motor vehicle

·        Must be flexible in work schedule. May work days, nights or Monday through Saturday

·        Willingness to learn and apply food manufacturing standards and safety practices

but Not Required:

·        Prior experience with maintenance in a food production or product manufacturing environment

·        Facilities type experience such as plumbing, electrical, bay door or man door repairs etc

·        Understanding of how computer (PLC) controlled equipment functions

·        Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
