Maintenance Resource Manager

Introduction The Asset Management Branch with the Department of Consumer Protection and Government Services is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to work in The Pas, Manitoba. Conditions of Employment: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Must possess a valid class 5F driver’s licence Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Internal Security Check Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position for extended periods of time (e.g. working alone, operating equipment, exposure to varied weather conditions, climbing ladders, vibrations, noise, dust, and wearing personal protective equipment) Qualifications: Essential: Major trades Journeyperson certificate (i.e. Plumber, Electrician, Refrigeration Mechanic, Carpenter) or Power Engineer certificate (3rd, 2nd or 1st class) and experience with building operations and maintenance in a facility or property managed environment. Experience overseeing building maintenance requirements and preventative maintenance. Experience working in a tenant services environment. Experience supervising and managing tradespersons, including providing coaching, leadership and development. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Knowledge of safe work practices, procedures and relevant safety policies and legislation. Knowledge and understanding of a variety of trade disciplines, equipment and code requirements, including plumbing, electrical and carpentry backgrounds. Strong decision making skills and the ability to solve problems under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Strong written communication skills. Experience using Plant Maintenance and Materials Management software (including SAP or comparable programs.) Duties: Responds to daily trouble calls from facility managers and district staff. Plans, co-ordinates and schedules the daily activities of trades staff and contractors to respond to regular and/or emergency requests, to carry out specialized preventative maintenance, repair work and new installations. Prepares and issues work orders using SAP to trades staff on a daily basis. Ensures that all labour time and material charges are compiled on work orders and enters that information into the database. Ensures that the specialized preventative maintenance program is operational including equipment sheets. Ensures information is entered in database. Takes appropriate action to deal with a given situations. Co-ordinates maintenance projects to ensure Central Services tradesmen and/or outside contractors, and necessary materials or equipment are on the job site when required.
