Maintenance First Line Leader

Job Summary:

Maintenance First Line Leader (MFLL) are assigned to a specific area and has direct line responsibility for the Technician within their area. The primary duty is to assure the safe, orderly, and efficient execution of all maintenance work. The Maintenance First Line Leader (MFLL) will provide prompt attention to critical jobs.


As a Maintenance First Line Leader, you will:

  • Assure the safe, orderly, and efficient execution of all maintenance work.
  • Act to maximize the effectiveness and productivity of the employees assigned to them, by adherence to the daily and weekly work schedule.
  • The MFLL will provide prompt attention to critical jobs and will monitor the accuracy of the daily report for the hours worked charged against work orders.
  • May be required to fulfill the duties of field contract administrator (FCA) for certain groups of contractors in the area.
  • The MFLL will oversee contract work, monitor safety, coordinate with production and their own manpower, and monitor cost of the work.
  • Plans shift activities and resources to optimize performance in line with production goals; communicates shift performance (safety, production, quality, etc.) goals, metrics and outcomes to team members.
  • Responsible for coaching and holding team accountable for safety, behavior, performance, and
  • quality.
  • Hire, retain and develop talent to meet current and future capabilities; promote a diverse,
  • equitable and inclusive environment.
  • Documents and completes administrative requirements timely and efficiently.
  • Leads or participates in EHS & Quality investigations and determines appropriate corrective action.
  • Ensures employees comply with established Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitors and makes adjustments to controllable costs for shift (i.e. overtime, operating
  • supplies).
  • Completes Leader Standard Work practices, including frequent line walks.
  • Initiates awards and recognition for individuals and/or teams, and celebrates areas
  • accomplishments.
  • Organizes and manages staffing levels to ensure adequate support for production needs.
  • Addresses personnel issues on shift effectively.
  • Assure 100% compliance with the following aspects of work execution: Individual MET and CET Mechanic Time Confirmations, MET and CET entry and quality of work order history, fully completed mechanic feedback form from each work order executed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associate or bachelor's Degree
  • 5 to 7 years of industrial or military or technical /trade degree or equivalent experience in maintenance with a background of Pipefitter/Millwright/ Electrical/Instrumentation background required.
  • 5+ years in Mechanical and/or Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Supervision or equivalent leadership
  • People leadership
  • Operate computers and software systems to input data into a Computerized Maintenance Management System experience using SAP is but not a requirement.
  • Good organizational and planning skills are necessary in order to safely and efficiently complete fast paced multi-tasked assignments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance processes including planning and scheduling, use of computerized maintenance management software.
  • SAP knowledge
