Program Summary

KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.

Job Summary

The Generator Superintendent is responsible for providing overall leadership, planning, and execution of power services across assigned sites. This role ensures that generator operations—including preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations—are carried out in compliance with contracts, schedules, budgets, and safety standards. The Superintendent oversees generator mechanics and subcontractors, manages resources, and collaborates with project teams to maintain reliable and efficient power services. This position plays a critical role in supporting mission readiness by ensuring uninterrupted power supply and adherence to U.S. Government and KBR requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

•    Provide overall leadership and direction for power services, ensuring compliance with contracts, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

•    Develop organizational structures, processes, and staffing plans required for effective execution of generator services.

•    Supervise and mentor General Foremen, generator mechanics, and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and compliance with established standards.

•    Collaborate with project teams to identify key success factors, risks, and mitigation plans related to power operations.

•    Evaluate generator service execution for contract compliance, design adherence, safety, and performance; provide recommendations for corrective actions.

•    Monitor implementation of safety programs, orientations, toolbox talks, and ensure strict compliance with PPE and HAZMAT requirements.

•    Oversee short- and long-range look-ahead planning for preventive maintenance, repairs, and generator installations.

•    Review and manage cost and man-hour budgets, ensuring labor and resource allocations remain within targets.

•    Approve and oversee parts procurement, ensuring adequate stock levels to support operations.

•    Validate preventive maintenance (PM), services, and repairs conducted by mechanics and subcontractors.

•    Approve or reject repair estimates from subcontractors and ensure timely completion of authorized work.

•    Conduct technical inspections and operational checks of generators and light sets across assigned camps.

•    Interface with other departments, including Materials, QA/QC, and Safety, to ensure integrated support for generator operations.

•    Promote employee morale, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training/coaching to build technical capability.

•    Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior leadership regarding generator performance, risks, and cost impact factors.

•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

•    High School Diploma, preferably in a technical or industrial field; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field .

•    Minimum of 10 years of generator/power experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership/supervisory role.

•    Proven expertise with a wide range of generators, engines, and power distribution systems, including U.S. and European voltage systems.

•    Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of generator systems.

•    Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and multi- teams effectively.

•    Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

•    Knowledge of safety standards and ability to enforce compliance with PPE and HAZMAT regulations.

•    Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical manuals related to generator systems.

•    Physical ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and work in tight spaces, including climbing, crawling, and bending.

•    Intermediate in English proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English at an Intermediate level.

•    Fluency in Romanian and unrestricted right to work and reside in Romania.

Qualifications ( Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

•    Prior experience in U.S. Government contracting or LOGCAP environments.

•    Experience developing staffing, equipment, and tool requirement plans.

•    Formal technical training or certifications in generator/power systems.

•    Demonstrated ability to improve processes, reduce downtime, and increase efficiency in generator operations.
