Job Title: Laboratory Assistant
Location: Detroit, MI
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule:

• Weekdays: Monday to Friday, 9:30 PM – 6:00 AM (8-hour shifts)
• Weekends: 8 or 12-hour shifts based on staffing needs
  Employment Type: Full-time Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant for a night shift contract position at a healthcare facility in Detroit, MI. This role is essential in supporting lab operations by ensuring accurate and timely specimen handling, data entry, and equipment maintenance. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, and proficient with computers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and transport
• Enter data accurately into lab information systems
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the lab environment
• Support lab technicians and technologists with routine tasks
• Adhere to safety protocols and quality control standards
• Communicate effectively with team members and clinical staff

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting
• Strong computer skills and data entry accuracy
• Excellent attendance and punctuality record
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours
• Flexibility to work 8- or 12-hour weekend shifts as needed
