Title: HSE Officer
Salary: £42,000 - £44,000 per annum
Shift: Monday to Friday, Day Shift
Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
VH Talent is delighted to be supporting a leading manufacturing company in appointing an HSE Officer. This role is ideal for a motivated Health, Safety & Environmental professional looking to further develop their skills while taking ownership of all on-site HSE activities. Working closely with senior management and operational teams, you will contribute to maintaining a proactive safety culture and helping drive continuous improvement across the business.
The HSE Officer Role:
* Support ongoing compliance with Health & Safety legislation by maintaining documentation and assisting with updates to the legal register.
* Monitor, record, and report HSE KPI data in line with internal requirements.
* Assist in preparing and delivering engaging HSE communications and training materials.
* Work with managers and team leaders to support risk assessments, safe systems of work, and general EHS processes.
* Manage internal H&S audits in line with company and group standards.
* Support the upkeep of the site’s Environmental ISO 14001 Standard by gathering data, monitoring environmental performance, and assisting with improvement plans.
* Promote HSE initiatives across the site, helping to build awareness and engagement among all employees.
You’ll need:
* Experience in a Health, Safety & Environmental role within manufacturing, engineering, or a similar environment.
* Confidence in delivering basic training sessions, briefings, or toolbox talks.
* A NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (or working towards one).
* Understanding or exposure to Continuous Improvement principles (Lean experience an advantage).
* Experience with ISO standards
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and support colleagues at all levels.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
