Position Summary:
The Head of Operations Engineering at our aseptic beverage manufacturing facility leads cross-functional engineering operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role oversees capital projects, facility expansion, and systems integration while collaborating with Maintenance, EH&S, Process, Controls, and Reliability teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee engineering processes, systems, and resource allocation for cost-effective operations

Drive KPIs and lead continuous improvement efforts

Manage CapEx, training, and consulting budgets

Control engineering drawings and design standards
-
Oversee CMMS (e.g., Upkeep) for maintenance and contractor activity tracking

Evaluate and onboard new technology vendors
-
Ensure scope accuracy in all new equipment contracts
-
Coordinate engineering and maintenance schedules with production
-
Lead shutdown coordination and support EH&S protocols (e.g., LOTO)
-
Guide project execution, resource allocation, and scheduling
-
Implement cost-saving measures and process optimizations
-
Establish engineering policies and safety procedures
-
Ensure compliance with SQF and Food Safety standards
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead strategic and tactical engineering workflows
-
Hire, develop, and manage engineering team members
-
Assign tasks based on skillsets and priorities
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical)
-
10+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing
-
5–7 years managing capital projects and budgets
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Office Suite, AutoCAD, ERP/CRM, and MES systems
-
Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., Upkeep)

Ability to read and create P&IDs
-
Strong leadership, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
-
Experience in process mapping and production-aligned scheduling
Nice-to-Have:

MBA or advanced business degree
-
Experience in aseptic beverage or food manufacturing
-
Familiarity with FDA, PMO design requirements, and GMPs
-
EH&S support experience (e.g., LOTO, shutdown/start-up protocols)
-
SQF and food safety knowledge
-
Ability to work near electromagnetic equipment and lift up to 15 lbs
