A Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required to work at Gila Community College.
Arizona State Retirement System membership eligible.

Essential Functions
- Ability to perform general physical activities that require coordination and considerable use of arms and/or legs and whole-body movement such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, carrying objects and handling tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to operate tools and various construction equipment and handle hazardous materials in a safe and effective manner.
- Ability to plan and execute construction or maintenance projects of various scope utilizing experience or significant skill in one or more trades.

Level of Supervision or Independent Judgement
- Performs experienced tradesperson duties with minimal supervision following procedures, instructions, and directions given.
- Opportunities for independent decision making to effectively complete assigned trade projects and tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance Tradespersons are expected to perform any or all duties listed below in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
- Perform skilled trade construction or maintenance duties including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Perform repairs to facilities, furniture, equipment, and/or fixtures as needed.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or with hand trucks or motorized vehicles.
- Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, scaffolding, etc. to prepare facilities for events such as banquets or meetings.
- Perform general custodial and/or groundskeeping responsibilities as needed or directed.
- Perform similar duties not specifically listed as directed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Construction maintenance, repair, and/or trade skills training and/or experience.
- Ability to pass a background screening process and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is necessary.
Skills
- Significant experience and skill in one or more construction trades.
- The ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Familiarity with and understanding of safe work practices particularly when performing general physical activities, handling hazardous materials, and operating tools and equipment.
Work EnvironmentDuties are performed in varied environments including outdoor and indoor sites. Exposure to hot or cold temperatures and/or wind, rain, snow, or other weather may occur. Exposure to hazardous materials and moderate to high noise levels is anticipated. Operation of tools and equipment involves the ability to repetitively manipulate objects from light to substantial weight using both fine and gross motor skills.
